Danielson Framework

Domain 1: Planning and Preparation

1a. Demonstrating Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy

The pedagogical texts listed below has influenced who I am as a teacher and how I can differentiate my teaching to varied learners. These texts also has helped me plan, instruct, and assess all learners.

1b. Demonstrating Knowledge of Students

Understanding where my students come from and what they need to know prior to teaching a lesson is crucial for learner development. My knowledge of students is showcased in my "Context for Learning" from my edTPA and a pre- assessment to collect data on what my students already know and what they need to learn.

1c. Setting Instructional Outcomes  and 1e. Designing Coherent Instruction

When designing my lessons, I create student learning objectives by aligning them with the New Jersey Visual and Performing Arts Standards and the National Core Arts Standards. Both of these standards allow students to create, perform, respond, and connect their learning.  My lesson plans are planned and designed to differentiate instruction to provide opportunities for all students to learn.

1f. Designing Student Assessments

Measuring student growth through formative and summative assessments demonstrates their understanding throughout the unit. These assessments also demonstrate how effective students understood the delivery of instruction. It is important that my students understand what is expected of them for their creative tasks, therefore, my students and I created a co-created performance rubric as a summative assessment.
