Danielson Framework

Domain 4: Professional Responsibilities

4a. Reflecting on Teaching

As an educator, it is important to constantly reflect on one's teaching in order to adapt teaching strategies. Below is my before/ after reflection on my experiences in the Ed.M program.

4b. Maintaining Accurate Records

During my student teaching, I had the opportunity to keep accurate records of my students' completion of assignments and students progress in learning. Below is how I kept track of my students' final creative project grades for their summative performance of my edTPA.

4c. Communicating with Families

Below is an example of a sample letter to the parents/guardians in the Clifton High School Dance Program acknowledging what their students have been doing through Google Meet.

4d. Participating in a Professional Community

In October of 2019, I was fortunate enough to participate in the Beijing International Seminar in Beijing, China. Here, I was able to immerse myself in the culture, learn various dance styles (Sanjo Dance and Chinese Classical Dance),  and make connections with educators and dancers from across the world.

4e. Growing and Developing Professionally

During the pandemic, I participated in Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) virtual Movement Sentence Choir 2021. This movement sentence choir brought over 60 participants together over zoom to develop a new dance piece with Taryn Vander Hoop and Yin Yue inspired by Laban's famous movement choir and movement sentences. Throughout the three hours spent together virtually, we worked with the idea of "Come Together and Unite" and the movement sentence "Flow, root, cut, and connect". Below is the final product of DEL's Movement Sentence Choir 2021.

4f. Showing Professionalism

On May 19th, my cohort and I were asked to present our unit plans we created where we explored social justice, social emotional learning, wellness, and non-western dance styles in the dance classroom. We created asynchronous lessons with their respective online learning materials for dance educators to use across the state of New Jersey in partnership with Dance New Jersey.
